Judy Sams
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Judy Sams' passion for golf began at the age of 13 when she was introduced to the game by her parents. Throughout her amateur career, Sams won various Ontario Junior and Ontario Women's Amateur events and competed in annual Canadian events.
In college, Judy lettered all four years in golf while playing on a golf scholarship at Ohio State University. Sams turned professional in 1980 after graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in education and competed on the WPGT (mini tour) for 2 years before qualifying for the LPGA tour in 1982. Sams played tournament golf on the LPGA from 1982 to 1987 and again from 1992 to 1995. In 1983, she finished second at the LPGA Rail Charity Classic, losing in a playoff.
In addition to her playing experience and accomplishments, Sams has been giving lessons since 1988 and has been teaching at Ben Sutton Golf School since 2002.
